Wear Resistant Solutions

Wear,
solved.

Tungrit®, Tungweld® and Tungenia®: registered tungsten surface coatings engineered for extreme abrasion and high-wear environments.

Overview

Wear is engineered, not endured.

Innovation sits at the pinnacle of everything we do, and nowhere is that clearer than in our wear protection. Tungrit®, Tungweld® and Tungenia® are our registered tungsten surface coating technologies, each formulated and developed in-house to deliver a high level of wear protection in the most extreme conditions. Wherever high abrasion is the dominant force wearing down your equipment, these coatings extend the life of the surfaces that take the punishment. They can be applied to virtually any ferrous surface, from screws, blades and tips to adaptors, chutes and beyond.

The Range

Three wear coatings.

Tungweld®

A dynamic wear protection system with excellent results on high wear and impact areas. Tungweld is applied directly to the component, eliminating the risk of wear pads or separately welded items breaking loose and damaging plant equipment. Tungsten carbide chips, fed in via a vibrator, are mixed with a specialised MIG wire at the fusion point, producing an extremely hard coating with a dense concentration of tungsten carbide throughout the wear section.

Tungrit®

Tungrit products contain rounded carbide particles that offer superior wear protection under conditions of low to moderate impact. This comes from the inherent hardness of the tungsten carbide combined with the "dead box" effect, where particles of abrasive material in contact with the Tungrit become trapped between the carbide particles. This build-up causes material on material bulk flow, protecting the base material from abrasive damage.

Tungenia®

Tungenia deposits an extremely durable protective coating consisting of a dense mass of very hard tungsten carbide embedded in a tough nickel chromium alloy matrix. This structure offers highly effective protection against corrosion and abrasive attack from a variety of materials. The matrix composition helps absorb impact, while the spherical profile of the carbides makes them very difficult to dislocate from the matrix.
